Family Photos in Sorauren Park
At 8am, while most of the city was still easing into the day, this little family was already making memories in the heart of Sorauren Park. Two moms, their joyful 8-month-old son, and their beloved pup met me for a session that was equal parts calm, playful, and beautifully real.
We started with a picnic blanket on the grass and a few favourite toys. Their son was all smiles — wide-eyed and curious, soaking in every moment. Each mom took turns playing, snuggling, and getting down to his level while I captured the quiet magic unfolding between them.
A bottle of bubbles brought some big giggles (and, briefly, some big tears — bubble-in-the-eye is no joke when you’re eight months old). But true to toddler form, the waterworks passed quickly, and we were back to happy squeals and snuggles.
One of my favourite moments came under a soft white bedsheet, draped to let the morning light glow around them. It gave us such intimate, glowing portraits — simple, warm, and full of connection.
We wrapped up with a little walk through the park — the moms holding their son by each hand as he toddled along the path between them. A perfect end to a sweet, unscripted session before they headed home and into the workday.
Real moments. Real families. If you’re looking for documentary-style family photography in Toronto that celebrates your everyday, I’d love to help tell your story.
